The Project

Conferences

The Wölfflin Project has organized 4 conferences on aspects of the global reception of Wölfflin’s Grundbegriffe/Principles between 2012 and the centenary year 2015. Conferences in Zurich, Tokyo, and Williamstown had a strong focus on specific histories of reception in Japan, in the Germanophone world, and in the USA, respectively. Three sessions of the Renaissance Society of America meeting in 2015 addressed the Eastern European and global reception. The conference cycle culminated in the conference held at CASVA on the global reception, with representatives from 15 countries.
